Four mistakes before
I made clip 5.

I made a 12-clip hero film for D2C founders with my AI double. Here is every mistake, the exact prompt that caused it, and the fix.

12clips in the film
4clips fixed before clip 5
1take rejected (clip 1)
24prompts rewritten
The finished filmAll twelve clips, with sound.

Mistake 01 · the script before any credit

The founder's worst moment wasn't believable.

My opening line had him three days from a Diwali sale with no ads at all. No real founder is that unprepared, and every founder watching would know it.

✓ Fixed in the script

✕ WasDiwali sale in three days. Zero ads.

✓ NowDiwali sale in three days. My ads just died.

The low must be a fear your viewer has lived. Ads that stop working right before a sale is one; having none is a strawman.

Mistake 02 · the look L · Look

My double was dressed as someone else.

I wrote a navy linen shirt and dark trousers. I never wear that. People who know me from LinkedIn know a black shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

✓ Fixed in the master block
✓ My real look
Sachin's double in a black shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers

The master block said

Outfit: navy linen shirt, sleeves rolled
once, dark trousers.

Now

Outfit: black linen shirt, full sleeves
rolled once, blue jeans, white sneakers.

Your double wears what your audience already recognises you in. One outfit, written once in the master block, used in every clip.

Mistake 03 · clip 1 K · Clock

The clip ended in the middle of my opening line.

A 9-word line in a 4-second clip, and I asked for a falling box before it. The model also pushed the camera in, which I never asked for. I started talking at about 1.3 s and was still mid-sentence when the clip stopped.

✓ Fixed: re-generated with the new prompt, accepted
✕ Rejected
Rejected take: a box falls before he speaks
Rejected take: still mid-sentence when the clip ends
✓ Accepted, in the film
Accepted take: he finishes the line, facing the camera
Accepted take: the box falls after the line

Where the 4 seconds went

My prompt said

(no DURATION inside the prompt)
C: eye level, 2 m in front of him, static.
K: 0.0–1.0s a box falls from the top
of the stack and lands at his feet.
1.0–3.4s: "Diwali sale in three days.
My ads just died."

The fix

DURATION: 6 seconds. One continuous shot.
FIRST FRAME: already standing, facing camera.
CAMERA: locked-off tripod. Does not move,
pan or zoom.
0.3–3.9s: he says it immediately: "…"
4.2–4.8s: a box falls beside him.
DO NOT: nothing falls before he finishes;
the clip never ends before he finishes.

Speech starts at 0.3 s. Anything he does comes after the line, never before it.

Mistake 04 · clips 2–4 K · Clock

The same mistake was waiting in the next three clips.

Clip 1 failed, so I audited every prompt before spending another credit. Clips 2, 3 and 4 each had an action before the line. I fixed them first, and all three came out right first time.

✓ Clips 2, 3, 4 accepted
✓ Accepted, in the film
Clip 2: already seated at the agency table, speaking
Clip 3: already sitting on the shop step in the rain
Clip 4: the kitchen in warm light after the line
ClipLineWordsWasNow
2 · Agency"Two lakh for a new ad? Two weeks?"84 s; he sits down at the table first6 s; already seated; pushes the paper away after the line
3 · Rain"Everyone's posting. I'm invisible."4He lowers himself onto the step first4 s; already sitting on the step
4 · Kitchen"So I made the ads myself."64 s; snaps his fingers and the lights change first6 s; line first, then the snap, then warm light

Clip 4 prompt, before

K: 0.0–0.5s the rain sound fades
0.5–1.0s he snaps his fingers; every
kitchen light turns warm and bright.
1.0–3.4s: "So I made the ads myself."

Clip 4 prompt, after

DURATION: 6 seconds.
0.3–2.9s: he says it immediately: "So I
made the ads myself."
3.2–3.6s: he snaps his fingers once.
3.6–4.4s: the lights turn warm and bright.
4.4–6.0s: silent hold, grinning.

When one clip breaks a lock, audit every other prompt for the same gap before you generate again.

Seven clock rules, now in every prompt.

  1. DURATION is the first line of the prompt, not just a heading.
  2. Length from words: up to 5 = 4 s, 6–10 = 6 s, 11–15 or two speakers = 8 s.
  3. Speech starts at 0.3 s. His own action comes after the line.
  4. The first frame already shows the speaking pose.
  5. The line ends 1.2 s before the clip does, then a silent hold.
  6. "Locked-off tripod; the camera does not move, pan or zoom."
  7. Every DO NOT ends: the clip never ends before he finishes; nothing happens before the line.
